SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
The Great Maple Cart Derby is not for profit family
and youth event run by volunteers from around York Region. It is our
goal to run a safe, fun event that will give kids from all areas of
the region an opportunity to learn some basic wood working and mechanical
skills, while spending time with their families working together on
a fun and challenging project.
In order to offer this event to youth from a wide variety of economic
backgrounds and family structures, we need the support of businesses,
governments, and social agencies. On the accompanying page we have listed
the two basic sponsorship packages that we have set up. It is our hope
that sponsors not only contribute financially to this event but that
they actively participate on race day. So come out and cheer for the
boy or girl whose car you sponsored. Or in the case of division sponsors,
accept our invitation to present the trophies to the winners.
We would also greatly appreciate any donation of services in kind. As
we prepare for this event, our committee members are seeking out a variety
of things that will help us run a successful race. The use of golf carts,
gazebos, folding tables and chairs, communication equipment, and timing
devices would be of great assistance. So, if you can lend or donate
something from the above list, want to sponsor a car or division, or
would like to volunteer on race day, contact one of our committee members,

SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
DIVISION SPONSOR $1,000
The race is divided into four divisions, based on the age of the drivers;
A Division Sponsor would:
- Have their name/logo (if artwork provided) on Division Trophies
- Have their name/logo (if artwork provided) on Award stage
- Have their company name announced before each race in their Division
- Company organization representative may choose to present awards
to race winners
- GMCD Sponsor Award
One representative from each division sponsoring company will be eligible
to participate in the "Corporate vs. community challenge".
GMCD carts will be provided (new in 2007)
CART SPONSOR $250
This assists families by offsetting the cost of the materials required
to build their cart.
- Input regarding cart colour scheme
- Logos (if provided - decal format) on vehicle
- Company name announced for each race involving their vehicle
- GMCD Sponsor Award
